Office and parking garage access control

Office suites, service rooms, garage gates and parking levels: Vega Access gives employees, tenants’ staff, cleaners and contractors the doors they need, for as long as they need them, and records every entry.

What makes offices and garages different

A residential building changes hands at the pace of leases. An office building or a parking garage changes every day: new employees, a cleaning crew, a contractor for two weeks, a courier at the loading door. Access needs to be granted quickly, limited to the right doors and taken back without anyone remembering to do it. Garages add vehicles to the picture: who parks where, and how to reach the drivers on one level when the garage needs work.

People: access by role, by door and by date

Employees and tenants’ staff

Each person gets one card, fob or phone sticker for every door they should open: the main entrance, their suite, the garage. Door groups such as "Floor 3 offices" or "Garage" grant a whole set of doors in one step, including doors added to the group later. When someone leaves, set an end date or disable the card; it stops opening doors and keeps its history.

Cleaners and contractors

Give them a card or a PIN code with a start date and an end date that match the contract. Access begins and ends on its own. If someone needs in once, an authorized admin can open the door from the web panel through the gateway; every remote unlock is confirmed first and recorded with who, when and which door.

Your own team

A company admin sees every building. Building managers and technicians see only the buildings assigned to them, and technicians can open and close doors there. Everyone signs in with their own account, by email code or password, with optional two-factor authentication and a recorded login history.

Parking: gates, vehicles and drivers

Garage gate controllers built on the SMLock platform sit in the panel like any other door, and wired garage readers on WLock (UniFi Access) sit beside them. On top of the doors, Vega Access keeps a record of vehicles with their drivers and parking spots, so you can answer "whose car is in spot 112?" without a binder. When a level needs to be cleaned or repaired, a building manager can send an email notice to the drivers parked on that level, or to one zone of it, and follow the delivery of each email.

Car history and door history use the same records, so a question about a garage incident starts with facts: which gate opened, at what time, with which credential.

Wired readers and battery locks together

Offices often have wired readers at entrances and garages and battery smart locks on suites, storage rooms and server closets, where running a cable is not worth it. Vega Access manages both: SMLock-based locks through SMLock gateways (wired G3P gateways on PoE are our recommendation for office floors), and WLock doors through a private, encrypted link to the site’s controller. The compatible locks page explains how to check your hardware, and the SMLock (TTLock) integration page lists what Vega Access does with each lock.

Records for audits and incidents

  • Every entry by door, method (card, code, phone, remote) and time.
  • Every change by your team, with the name of the person who made it.
  • Lost, broken and disabled cards kept with their history.
  • CSV export of any list; a full export of doors and cards to Excel.

How far back history goes depends on your plan. Vega Access records entries, not exits, and is hosted in a Canadian data centre (the lock vendor’s cloud may be outside Canada). See security and privacy for roles, two-factor sign-in and backups.

Pricing for offices and garages

Plans are quoted on buildings, doors and support level. SMLock doors and doors run by another system, such as a WLock reader, are counted separately; gateways, cards and fobs are not counted. Size your site with the door calculator and compare plans.

Questions from office and garage managers

Can a contractor’s access end automatically?

Yes. Give the card or PIN code an end date. It stops working on that date and stays on record with its history.

Can we open the garage gate for a visitor from the office?

An authorized admin can open a door or gate connected through a gateway or a WLock controller from the web panel. The action is confirmed first and recorded in the audit log.

What happens to the doors during an internet outage?

Battery locks keep opening with the credentials they store. Remote unlock, live logs and new changes wait for the connection; entry records sync when it returns.
