Vega Access vs RemoteLock: which fits your buildings?
RemoteLock and Vega Access both manage smart locks and doors from the cloud for property managers. They are built differently and suit different portfolios. Here is a fair comparison, using RemoteLock’s public pricing page as read on November 4, 2026.
The short version
RemoteLock is a broad access platform with plans for vacation rentals, multifamily and commercial properties, many hardware integrations, and add-ons such as elevator control, resident apps and messaging. Vega Access is narrower and local: it runs SMLock-based smart locks and WLock (UniFi Access) doors for property managers, condo syndicates and rental owners, with a bilingual team in Quebec and hosting in Canada. If you need a wide catalogue of lock brands or elevator control, RemoteLock covers more. If your buildings use SMLock-based locks or WLock doors and you work in French, Vega Access is built for you.
Side by side
| Topic | RemoteLock (public page, 2026-11-04) | Vega Access |
|---|---|---|
| Segments | Vacation rental, multifamily and commercial plans. | Property management companies, condo syndicates, rental buildings, offices and garages. |
| How pricing works | Based on what you manage (units, doors, elevator floors) plus optional applications and add-ons; commercial door prices are published; device management is an add-on per device. | Quoted per portfolio, based on buildings, doors and support level. Gateways, cards and fobs are not counted. |
| Getting started | Entry tiers are self-serve online; higher tiers go through a demo with sales. | Request access or book a demo; each workspace is reviewed and set up with you. |
| Event history | Depends on the tier: 90 days, 1 year, or 3 years on the top commercial tier. | Depends on the plan; records are kept even after a card or door is removed. |
| Hardware | Many hardware integrations across lock and reader brands; specialty locks and elevator control available. | SMLock-based locks (TTLock app) through SMLock gateways, and WLock (UniFi Access) doors. Locks and gateways bought separately. |
| Extras | Resident app, guest and visitor management, text messaging, virtual intercom, rent payments, software integrations on higher tiers. | Tenant app (rolling out), email notices to tenants and drivers, vehicles and parking spots, battery alerts and service log. No intercom, rent payments or elevator control. |
| Language and location | Not compared here: check with RemoteLock for your needs. | English and French; office in LaSalle, Quebec; hosted in a Canadian data centre (the lock vendor’s cloud may be outside Canada). |

When RemoteLock is probably the better fit
- You manage vacation rentals and want guest messaging and vacation rental software integrations.
- Your buildings use lock or reader brands that are not SMLock-based or WLock.
- You need elevator control, rent payments or a virtual intercom from the same vendor.
- You want to start online without talking to anyone.
When Vega Access is probably the better fit
- Your unit doors have SMLock-based locks, set up with the SMLock app (TTLock), and you want to keep them. See compatible locks.
- Your common doors run on WLock (UniFi Access) and you want them in the same panel as the unit locks. See the WLock integration.
- Your team, tenants or board work in French, and you want support from a team in Quebec.
- You want buildings, floors, units and tenants organized the way a property manager thinks, with roles per building. See property managers.
- Hosting the management system in Canada matters to your Law 25 assessment. See security and privacy.
Questions to ask both vendors
- Which of my exact lock and reader models are supported, and what happens to the ones that are not?
- What is counted for pricing: doors, units, devices, users?
- How long is entry history kept on the tier I would buy, and can I export it?
- Where is my data hosted, and where is the lock vendor’s cloud?
- What still works when the building’s internet is down?
- Who supports us, in which language, and during which hours?
We are happy to answer these for Vega Access in writing. Size your buildings with the door calculator, compare plans, or read the wider alternatives overview.
