Locks & hardware
Which smart locks work with Vega ACMS?
Any lock that runs on the TTLock platform. Many manufacturers sell TTLock-based locks under their own brand names — if the lock is set up with the TTLock app, ACMS can manage it. Doors on other access-control systems, starting with UniFi Access, can sit in the same panel.
See compatible locks for how to check yours.
How do I know if my lock is TTLock‑based?
Check the manual or the box: a TTLock-based lock tells you to install the TTLock app to set it up. If you can add the lock in the TTLock app, it is TTLock-based. Not sure? Send us the model and a photo and we’ll tell you.
Do I need a gateway?
Yes, for anything remote. A TTLock gateway connects nearby locks (over Bluetooth) to the internet: G2 uses Wi-Fi, G3 uses wired Ethernet and G3P is the wired version powered over Ethernet (PoE). For apartment and office buildings we recommend wired G3P gateways — one or more per floor, depending on the layout.
Without a gateway, locks still open with cards and codes, but every change needs someone on site with a phone.
What happens if the internet or power goes down?
Doors keep working. The locks run on batteries and store their credentials, so cards, fobs, PIN codes and fingerprints already loaded keep opening the door with no internet.
What waits for the connection to return: remote unlock, live entry logs and new changes. Entry records sync once the gateway is back online. If you must block a card during an outage, a technician can apply it on site over Bluetooth. Tip: put the gateway PoE switch on a UPS.
How long do lock batteries last?
It depends on the lock model, the batteries and how busy the door is — a lobby door drains faster than a storage room. ACMS shows the battery level of every lock, you set a low-battery threshold per building, and your technician is alerted before a lock runs flat. Every battery change is logged with the date, the battery type and who did it.
Everyday use
A resident lost their card. What do I do?
Mark the card as lost in ACMS. It is blocked at the doors through the gateway, and it stays in the system with its full history — nothing is deleted. Issue a replacement card in a minute. Broken cards work the same way.
Can I issue a card before a tenant moves in?
Yes. Every card, fob or phone sticker can have a start date and an optional end date. Hand keys over a month early and they only start working on move-in day. Cleaners, contractors and short leases get access that expires on its own.
Can residents open doors with their phone?
Residents get an app invite by email, and the resident app opens only the doors they are allowed to use. The mobile apps are rolling out; until they reach your buildings, residents use cards, fobs, phone stickers or PIN codes.
Can I unlock a door remotely?
Yes. Authorized admins can open any door from the web panel through the gateway — for a delivery, a contractor or a locked-out resident. Every attempt is confirmed first and recorded in the audit log with who, when and which door.
Security & data
Who can see and do what?
You decide. A company admin sees all buildings and assigns building managers and technicians to specific buildings only. Each user gets the permissions their job needs, two-factor authentication protects sign-in, and every login is recorded.
Where is our data stored?
In Canada. ACMS is hosted in a Canadian data centre, with encrypted daily backups. It is built to support your obligations under Quebec’s Law 25 and PIPEDA. See security & privacy.
Who owns the data?
You do — your buildings, residents, cards and entry history. You can export your doors and cards to CSV or Excel, so your records stay with you.
Pricing & contract
Do the plans include locks and gateways?
No. Vega ACMS is the software that runs your doors; locks and gateways are bought separately. Pricing is tailored to your portfolio — talk to sales for a quote.
Is there a long-term contract?
The length and terms of your subscription are set out in your service agreement — ask us for a copy before you sign.
What counts as a door?
Every door with a TTLock-based lock is one TTLock door. Every door run by another access-control system, such as a UniFi Access reader, is one other door. Gateways, cards and fobs are not counted. Each plan includes a number of TTLock doors — see the plans.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. As you add doors or buildings you can move to a plan that fits better. How the change is billed is set out in your service agreement.
How is pricing calculated?
Every client gets a tailored quote based on the number of doors and buildings and the level of support they need. Talk to sales and we will send a quote for your portfolio.
How do support levels differ between plans?
Starter includes standard support (email, business hours). Pro adds advanced support with priority email and chat. Business adds premium support: fast response to incidents and lock or gateway failures, with individual assistance. Enterprise includes a dedicated account manager and support.
Do you offer an API and integrations?
Yes, on higher plans: API access for your own tools, and integrations with other access-control systems (starting with UniFi Access). The pricing page shows what each plan includes.
Can we put our own brand on it?
Yes. With white label, your managers and residents see your company name, logo and colours instead of ours. It is available as an option for property management companies.
Getting started
How long does setup take?
The software side is quick: once locks and gateways are paired, they are imported into ACMS and mapped to buildings, floors and units. Physical installation depends on your doors and how many there are; larger sites are rolled out building by building so residents are never left without access.
We use metal keys and old fobs today. How do we switch?
Building by building. Locks and gateways are installed, imported into ACMS, and new cards or fobs are issued with a start date that matches the switch-over day. Whether your existing fobs can be reused depends on the card technology — we check that with you before you buy anything.
Is Vega ACMS available in French?
Yes. Vega ACMS is built for Quebec: this website is available in French, the panel and the resident experience are bilingual English and French (the French interface is rolling out now), and we support clients in both languages.
How do we get started?
Book a demo or request access for your company. We review each request, set up your workspace, and help you connect your first building. Ask about a trial when you get in touch.
